Summer Volunteer Programme has come to an end

The fourth edition of Co-design Your Place (CYP) - the international service design educational program, has come to an end.

Last Saturday (4th of September 2021), we met in the Palace-Park Complex in Sieminowice Śląskie, Poland, to recap the Summer Volunteer Programme, CYP 2021 edition. The brief for the Service Design process, which ten young designers and professionals have been working with during the last two months, focused on building a sustainable community around the eastern Palace's wing. The challenging question was how we might organise a community in a place that is not ready to be used? Our answer was crowdfunding.

By crowdfunding funds, we want to create an open, friendly space for the Palace community. The main goal is to complete the construction of the Eastern Wing of the Palace and then apply services supporting community-building and regeneration processes. "Patrons of the Palace" participating in the crowdfunding will be able to, e.g. organise a meeting, workshop, mini-conference, rent a desk, or drink good coffee with friends.

CYPers presented two attractive services last Saturday during the final presentations and celebration event. Ten young designers have been working for the previous two months with eighteen mentors and experts' fantastic support and companion.
