Final presentations of Co-design Your Place 2021

We are on the final stretch of the fourth edition of Co-design Your Place (CYP) - the international service design educational program. CYP is dedicated to students, designers, young professionals, businessmen and businesswomen, local activists and citizens who want to learn, contribute and be a part of historical P(a)lace in Siemianowice ÅšlÄ…skie, Poland.

As a summary of this year edition, on September 4th, 2021, at 6 pm, we invite you to the regenerated Palace and Park Complex in Siemianowice ÅšlÄ…skie to "Become a patron of the Palace" celebration. During the event, we will begin the promotion of crowdfunding in order to start the campaign at the beginning of October. Then you will be able to buy services supporting the regeneration of the Palace by using the safe crowdfunding platform.

By crowdfunding project, we want to create an open, social space for the Palace community. The main goal is to complete the construction of the Eastern Wing of the Palace and then apply services supporting community-building and regeneration processes. "Patrons of the Palace" participating in the crowdfunding will be able to, e.g. organise a meeting, workshop, mini-conference, rent a desk, or drink good coffee with friends.

This year CYPers have been working in two groups facing the brief focused on the question of how might we build the sustainable Palace community by crowdfunding? Because it was in 100% voluntary program, we called it the "Summer Volunteer Program". We were more than happy when over 40 designers, mentors, experts, and residents of Siemianowice ÅšlÄ…skie agreed to participate in the three-month service design process to face all crowdfunding and regeneration challenges.

The final presentations of the services will be shown on September 4th, 2021. The event will be held in Polish, and for English speaking guests, we plan additional presentations at the end of September.

We want to underline that crowdfunding is our chance to support the regeneration of the Palace and establish here community with shared values like entrepreneurship, hospitality, responsibility and sustainability. By using service design, participatory design and placemaking approach, we believe that we can provide meaningful services that will help create here a place for us and the next generations.
